Denver, Colorado

"If you build it, he will come" is a quote by a movie called Field of Dreams, where a farmer, played by Kevin Costner, hears a mysterious voice, making him feel crazy. The voice lets him know that if he makes this field, then people are sure to show up.

This is exactly what happened with the Denver event. When we pulled into Denver, we thought we had a venue that was all set up to go, but as soon as we saw it, we realized it needed work. Well, to be precise, it needed a ceiling, paint, and an entire gutting of the space, and our event was in two days. So, we got to work.

But this wasn't easy.  Not only did we need to manufacture a space suitable enough for us host a party at, but we also needed to bring people and organizations. Painstakingly, we worked day and night cutting wood, making calls, arranging food, installing a pool table, painting the walls, rearranging the DJ stage, and putting in the ceiling.  It was exhausting.  Arguing with one another, questioning the certainty of the trip, and feeling hopeless at times.  Though, there was one thing that kept us alive, and that was the end goal of this mission.  What it's purpose was.  To build a community of conscious, vulnerable, loving people.

So, after literal blood, sweat, and tears we had a space that we were excited to have our party in. The venue actually turned out better than we anticipated, and Denver was one of our most successful events.

Non-profits and people were beyond excited to share their stories, both BC and Perry's Moms came out and met one another for the first time, and we danced and partied throughout the night.

We want to give a huge shout out and thank you to our sponsor for this event - Yuhme
